Logo Embroidery & the Embroidery Process

What is Embroidery?

Embroidery is a process in which a machine creates patterns and designs by sewing into a desired material- in this case, into chosen apparel items. The embroidery machine uses high quality polyester thread, a digitized version of a design, and can embroidery up to 7 items at a time- all automated! Embroidery is a great way to sport a brand or logo- whether on a hat, visor, polo, pullover, jacket, or any other applicable apparel items.

What can be embroidered?

Embroidery can be used on a variety of different apparel items. Polos, hats, visors, backpacks, tote bags, work jackets, vests, and so much more! Although there are size limitations of what the machine and embroidery hoop will allow, embroidery is a great process for custom apparel, logo embroidery, or multi-colored logos. Embroidery isn't limited by number of colors, and can create great detail in a design.

Step-by-step

STEP 1: EMBROIDERY DESIGN DIGITIZING

The embroidery process begins with a logo or custom embroidery design. The design is then *digitized and imported a computer. The design is then transferred to the embroidery machine.

STEP 2: EMBROIDERY MACHINE SET UP & TEST

Set up the embroidery machine with the digitized file, selected thread colors, and prepare a *sew-out or test of the embroidery design. Check to make sure the logo is legible and there's adequate thread density of each element in the design.

STEP 3: LOGO EMBROIDERY

After a successful sew-out, determine and mark the location of the embroidery placement on the garment to be embellished. Prepare the garment with an appropriately sized embroidery hoop for the design and load onto the machine. Press start, and monitor the machine as it begins it's embroidery process.

STEP 4: EMBROIDERY DETAILS

After pressing start on the machine, it will begin with any under layers of the design. It will then start to build up any other colors, as well as add any text, outlines or small details. Once the machine is done, remove the garments and place them on a table to be quality checked.

STEP 5: QUALITY CHECK

Check each embroidered garment to ensure embroidery quality, and placement is correct. Trim all left over threads with curved embroidery scissors, and cut away the embroidery paper used on the back of the garment.

STEP 6: BOXED AND SHIPPED

Once all embroidered gaments have been checked, they are ready wear! In this case, they will be folded, boxed up and shipped to their perspective customers.
